I come from humble beginnings; a preacher's kid raised in the church. I grew up in a very strict religious household, the youngest of five kids. I didn’t really know my worth. Mom and dad were always gone in church. I didn’t have mentors to pour into me coaching me on the dos and the don’ts. I turned to the streets and began making poor choices. At the age of 18, I became a teenage mom and ended up in a toxic unhealthy relationship which eventually left me a single mother of three. I struggled, and it was very hard. I lost my home, and car and sometimes didn’t know where my next meal would come from. I made a promise to God that when he pulled me out of this season of my life that I would give back and support mothers that feel like they have no hope, no one understands, and no support system.
That’s when Fabulous on Purpose was birthed, in 2017. I started this nonprofit organization to support single mothers and children because I walked in their shoes, and I know their struggles and hardships.
And today, we support women all over the world with tools and resources to support their personal and professional development.
I wrote "Embracing my scars" to share my story and help other women embrace their scars and understand that every mistake, failure, hurt, and pain that you’ve endured was necessary.
It is my goal and mission to help women not only embrace their scars but use everything they’ve gone through as a Stepstone to reach and find their ultimate purpose.
